CHANDIGARH, DEC  8
Patron of the Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today hailed the spectacular victory of SAD-BJP alliance in the Delhi assembly polls and described it as a “historic mandate in the favour of its pro-people policies and outright rejection of Congress due to its anti-poor stance and rampant corrupt and mal administration.”
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that these election results were a referendum for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2014. He said these election results were a pointer towards the impending rout of Congress led UPA government from Centre thereby paving a way for the BJP led NDA to form the next government. He said the spectacular victory of SAD candidates in three out of the four assembly seats contested by the party was a testimony to the unflinching trust and confidence, which the people especially the Punjabis have reposed in the policies and programs of the party. Mr. Badal congratulated the SAD president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal and thanked all the workers, office bearers and leaders of the party who worked tirelessly too win over the people’s confidence to ensure a three fourth mandate in favour of the party.
Felicitating the BJP for stunning win in assembly polls of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that this triumph would be instrumental in maintaining the spree of victory in the next General Elections. Congratulating all the candidates of SAD-BJP who emerged triumphant in these elections and their supporters for this rare feat, Mr. Badal hoped that the day was not very far off when the BJP led NDA under the stewardship of Mr. Narendra Modi would capture the fort at the Centre to cherish the aspirations of millions of people who had been fed up with the autocratic functioning of Congress led UPA government which has hardly any achievement worth mentioning except to accentuate the woes of all sections of society be it farmers, industrialist, employees, middle class above all the worst hit was the common man-the ‘aam aadmi’ in the nomenclature of Congress for whom it claimed to be the votary of his rights.
