More than 125 students today donated blood at Khalsa College’s Blood Donation
Camp, organized by Red Ribbon Club, in collaboration with National Social
Service (NSS) wing of the College. Interestingly, the girl students showed
equal enthusiasm as their male counterparts to donate the blood and this was
highly appreciated by retired Additional Director General of Police (ADGP),
Punjab Mr. Chander Shekhar, who inaugurated the camp at the college campus.
Khalsa College NSS Program Officer, Dr. HB Singh said that the blood
would be deposited with the various blood banks in the district. Shekhar
earlier thanked the students for participation in the noble cause and he coaxed
students and the general public to donate blood regularly as this would be best
service for the society. College Dispensary In charge, Dr. Charanjit Singh said
that one unit of blood was taken from each of the donors and added that this
camp is periodically organized at the campus for the purpose.
College Principal, Dr. Daljit Singh, he was away, thanked the students
for showing such great enthusiasm in the donating the blood. Present on the
occasion were Prof. Zorawar Singh, Dr. Gargi Varma, Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh,
Prof. Gursharan Kaur and Harpreet Kaur.
