A seven-day-long Inter-Khalsa College Institutions Diwali Tournament was held at Khalsa College in which all colleges under Khalsa College Charitable Society (KCCS) competed for the trophy. More than 500 students from these institutions took part in the varied events including the cricket, athletics, basketball volleyball, badminton and tug of war and the girl students participated enthusiastically in the sports events.
During the prize distribution function, KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said that as the institutions had been growing, there was view emerging for the in-house sports tournament and they planned the event. He appreciated the contribution of Khalsa College Amritsar Principal Dr.Mehal Singh who made elaborate arrangements to hold the sports competitions.
He said Khalsa institutions had been in the forefront to provide best talent to the national pool in various sports and such events help them to polish their skills of the sportsmanship. The stage was managed by Dr.Parminder Singh and Prof.Malkinder Singh. KCW Principal Dr.Sukhbir Kaur Mahal, Dr.Amarpal Singh, Dr.GS Kang, Dr.HB Singh, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal DK Sandhu, Gurinderjit Kaur, Prof Navreen Bawa, staff and students were present in large number.
