Aryans College of Education today organize an International
seminar on “Global warming awareness among High school students-Issues &
Challenges” at its campus i.e. Village (Nepra) between Banur and Rajpura on
Chandigarh–Patiala highway.

Garden was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr.Kulwinder Singh, Professor
Education Deptt. , Punjab University, Patiala
& Dr. Sarita Mehta, Professor Rice
University, Texas, USA was the Guest of Honour.
The
event was presided over by Dr.Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group. Experts and professors presented their papers on different
topics such as Global Warming, Save Earth.
Dr.Manjula Kataria, Principal, Aryans College of Education said that the objective of
the seminar was to create environmental concern among high school students to exhort them to focus, adopt, implement, influence and evolve
eco-friendly means to reduce greenhouse emission levels and extend a
helping hand in the reduction of the impact of global warming.
While inaugurating the seminar, Mr Nekchand said that products that can be
recycled should be used more as it can reduce in-disposable wastes which causes
global warming.
Dr. Sarita Mehta said that planting
trees in our surroundings wherever vacant lands are available as it is one of
the best ways to combat global warming as trees absorb carbon dioxide and gives
out oxygen. She asked the students to be aware of global warming and its
negative impacts.
“Always try your best to educate people about global warming and
its causes and after affects. Tell them how they can contribute their part by
saving energy that will be good for the environment. Gather opportunities and
establish programs that will help you to share information with friends,
relatives and neighbors”, said by Dr.Kulwinder Singh.
Dr. Parveen Kataria expressed hope that rich contribution made
by several speakers would help people understand the important issues related
to global warming.
On this occasion, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Vice Principal, ACE gave
a presentation highlighting the effects of global warming. He further said that co-ordinated efforts were needed among
the nations to address the issue of global warming.
