CHANDIGARH, MARCH 17
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and MLA Brahm Mohindra has demanded resignation of Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki by accusing the latter for failing to protect the interests of Punjab.
At the same time, he also accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for playing politics with Punjab by not providing a full fledged governor to State.Issuing a press release here, the five-time MLA Mohindra said that it is ironic that in less than a week after addressing the Punjab Assembly in which Governor Solanki highlighted that Punjab has no extra water, he has taken a u-turn and as Governor of Haryana demanded water share from Punjab.
“By working as Governor of Punjab and Haryana, Solanki has lowered the esteem of this coveted post, as his governor address in Assemblies of Punjab and Haryana respectively, was self contradictory”, said Mohindra.
He said that the governor is not doing justice to his job, as latter is in dilemma as he hold dual charge of neghbouring states, which are working to protect their interests on water issue.
Taking up issue in delay in signing the bill passed by the Punjab Legislators, Mohindra said that the Congress has lost faith in governor, as it seems that he is working against Punjab at the behest of Bharatiya Janta Party and PM Narendra Modi.
“PM has deliberately not appointed a separate governor for Punjab, as he wants to protect the interests of Haryana through Solanki”, he said demanding immediate removal of Solanki and appointment of new governor. He said, in order to restore the pristine glory of post of governor, Solanki himself should give up his job of Punjab Governor, as his dual character for Punjab and Haryana, is lowering the image of post of governor.===balbirsingh227@gmail.com
