Buttar sworn in as PPSC chairman by governor

CHANDIGARH, JULY 8
 The Punjab Governor, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil, today administered the oath of office and secrecy to Lt. Gen. (Retd.) M.S. Buttar as the Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) at a brief but impressive ceremony held here at Punjab Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, Mr. NS Kang, Financial Commissioner Revenue, who conducted the proceedings of swearing in ceremony, sought the permission of the Governor to begin the oath ceremony. Soon after, Mr. Buttar was sworn in as Chairman, he signed the oath which was counter-signed by the Governor.
Prominent amongst others who attended the swearing-in-ceremony included Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Revenue and Public Relations Minister, Punjab Mr Bikram Singh Majithia,  Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Principal Secretary to Governor,  Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Mr. S.K. Sandhu. Besides the members of PPSC and several senior officers of civil and police administration were also present on the occasion.
Mr. Buttar was accompanied by his family members, friends and relatives, who offered their best wishes to him on his new assignment.
