 The Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today created a history as he was sworn-in as Chief Minister of Punjab by Punjab Governor Shivraj V Patil for fifth term.

            The Governor administered the oath of office and secrecy and allegiance to the Constitution to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and 16 members of Punjab Cabinet including  Bhagat Chunni Lal,  Mr Sarwan Singh Phillaur,  Mr Adaish Partap Singh Kairon, Mr Ajit Singh Kohar , Mr Gulzar Singh Ranike,  Mr Madan Mohan Mittal, Mr Parminder Singh Dhindsa,  Mr Janmeja Singh Sekhon ,  Jathedar Tota Singh , Bibi Jagir Kaur,  Mr. Surjit Kumar Jyani,  Mr Bikram Singh Majitha, Mr Sikandar Singh Malooka, Mr. Anil Joshi,  Mr Surjit Singh Rakhra and  Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon

            The swearing-in ceremony was organised at historic memorial of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Chapparchirri, 15 km from Chandigarh, where great Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur defeated the Mughal Governor of Sirhind Wazir Khan marking the establishment of Sikh Rule in India, today at the same historic ground Mr. Badal broke the 46 years old jinx by bringing back SAD-BJP Government for second consecutive time.

            Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister  Sukhbir Singh Badal and all the 16 cabinet colleagues took oath of office in the name of God. Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and all Cabinet Minister after taking their oath signed the oath form that was counter signed by Punjab Governor.

             Leader of opposition Mr. L.K. Advani, Convenor NDA and Janata Dal (U) President Mr. Sharad Yadav, BJP Party Chief Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narinder Modi, Former BJP Chief Mr. Rajnath Singh, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal,  BJP leader Mr. Shanta Kumar, Union Minister Mr. Praful Patel, Delhi BJP leader Mr. Vijay Goel, Karnataka PWD Minister Mr. C.M.Udasi, AIDMK MPs Mr.Thambi Durrai and Dr. Maitre, BJP MP Mr. Anurag Thakur, Mr. Naresh Gujral, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Mr.Balwinder Singh Bhunder (all Rajya Sabha Members), Jharkhand Chief Minister Mr. Arjun Munda, Former Canadian MP Ruby Dhalla were amongst the scores of political dignitaries from all the political parties that came to swearing-in ceremony to witness history being created in Punjab.

            Immediately after sworn in, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia went to the special stage to seek the blessings of Sant Samaj Chief Harnam Singh Dhumma and other religious personalities to live up to the aspirations of people of Punjab. Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma honoured Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Cabinet Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia with Siropas , a robe of honour.

             As Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister took their oath in Punjabi their family members including Member Parliament Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal along with her kids witnessed the ceremony.
