Association (CMA) in association with Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC)
today organized "Entrepreneurship Sensitization Day" at PHD Chamber,
Chandigarh. Sh. Naval Gupta, Chief Regional Manager, Indian Overseas
Bank (IOB) was the chief guest while Dr. Anshu Kataria (Chairman, Aryans
Group & President, CMA) presided over the event. Top seven
organizations including Aryans, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),
Chandigarh Management Association (CMA), PHD Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (PHDCCI), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Punjab Technical
University (PTU), Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) join hands today to promote
entrepreneurship among the students of tricity.
Many eminent
speakers/entrepreneurs/ industrialist including Mr. Vikram Hans,
Chairman, CII; Mr. Dalip Sharma, Regional Director, PHD Chamber; Sh. J.
N. Vohra (CMA); Mr. Anuj Aggarwal (TiE) enlighten the students on the
Entrepreneurship & motivated students to become job providers
instead of job-seekers.
Nearly 400 students of MBA,
B.Tech,BBA,BCA of Aryans Group, 20 students made presentations of their
business plans who intend to become entrepreneur. The officials of Bank
appreciated the ideas of students and suggested them to make detailed
business proposals for obtaining financial assistance. Out of the
students who made the presentations Gurharinder Singh(MBA 1st
) & Pankaj (MBA 3rd )were adjudged the winners of 1st
and 2nd awards for their business ideas.
While addressing the
students, Mr. Naval Gupta said that there are various schemes offered by
the banks in India especially meant to aid young entrepreneurs. He also
provided the information regarding small and medium industry finance
and detail about the education loan. The education system should focus
on making students job providers instead of job-seekers, he further
added.
Mr. Vikram Hans said that
boasting of 100 per cent campus placements is not enough. Professional
colleges should come out with concrete plans to build entrepreneurship
qualities in students. Further Mr. Dalip Sharma emphasized the need of
lifting Indian economy by making the young generation independent and
self sufficient in this era of global meltdown.
Mr. J. N. Vohra said that
business/management games help the students to learn various skills
required to be successful entrepreneurs. Mr. Anuj Aggarwal added that
there is great need of sensitizing the Indian population on management
education and how it can help the youth to start up their own
businesses.
Speaking on the occasion,
Dr. Anshu Kataria said that In order to develop and groom the potential
of first generation entrepreneurs we are organizing this event 5th time.
Every year our students give their business ideas & get guidance
from renowned personalities from different sectors, Dr.Kataria further
added. Prof. D. C. Kataria (Vice Chairman); Dr. Parveen Kataria
(Director General); Dr. K.K. Mangla (Director); Mr. H K Saini, Mr.
Bhupinder Manchanda also spoke on the occasion.
