The Punjab State Board of Technical Education today declared the result of JET 2012..
A spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that Ishkarn Mangat of Chandigarh bagged the top position. Besides that Simranpreet Kaur from Ludhiana secured second position followed by Sachin Goyal from Mansa3rd , Sumit Goyal from Bathinda 4th and Alisha Mahajan from Gurdaspur secured fifth position.
He said that on the basis this exam the admission to three year diploma courses would be made for about 60,000 seats in more than 130 polytechnic colleges located in Punjab and Chandigarh.He said that the counseling for admission would be started from June 18.
The spokesman further said that the Prospectus-cum-Admission forms has been available in designated branches of Punjab National Bank, Suvidha Centres in D.C. offices,
District Education Office, Affiliated polytechnic colleges and Board’s office. He said that the students would be able to submit their completed form till June 15, 2012. The admission forms can also be downloaded from the Board’s website www.punjabteched.com; andwww.punjabteched.net.
The online counseling of the students who apply for admission to seats under Fee Waiver Scheme would be started from June 18 and General counseling would be from July 4, details of which has been available in the Prospectus. He further said that under the Fee Waiver Schemestudents whose family income was less than Rs. 4.5 lakh were eligible to seek admission against 2800 seats under this category. Under the Fee Waiver Scheme tuition fee of Rs. 22,000/- out of Total annual fee of Rs. 27,625/- was exempted and the student has to pay only Rs. 5,625/- per year when admitted against this scheme.
