CM pats Punjab voters for enthusiastically casting their votes

Describing the smooth, peaceful, free and fair conduct of the general elections in Punjab as “a triumph of democracy” in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that the voters of the state have once again strengthened democratic process by exercising their franchise in an overwhelming manner.
In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister profusely thanked the people of Punjab for participating in the electoral process in a whole-hearted and peaceful manner. He lauded the people of the state for sticking to the ideals of peace and harmony in the state and carrying out the polling process in a dignified manner. Expressing gratitude towards the voters, Mr. Badal said that he was grateful to them for this as nothing was dearer to him than peace and communal harmony in the state.
The Chief Minister also thanked the people for reposing faith in the ethos of democratic values by exercising their franchise freely. He said that undeterred by the scorching heat of the summer season, the wise voters of Punjab have turned up in large number to cast their votes, which reflected the passion of the Punjabis to play a decisive role in shaping the destiny of the country.   
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister highly appreciated the role played by the Election Commission of India and the State Election Commission besides the state administration and its entire official machinery for the smooth conduct of free and fair elections across the state.
