JALANDHAR, JULY 6
The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, today
announced immediate cash assistance of Rs 5 lakh to African national
Nestor Ntibateganya father of 24 year old student Yannick Nizhanga, who
is in coma since last two months after assault by a group of youngsters
on April 21 in Jalandhar.
The Chief Minister was quick to order total support to the family as this issue came to his notice.
Meanwhile
the Colombia Asia Hospital in Patiala where Yannick Nizhanga was
admitted since two months was being requested to waive off the pending
dues of the patient
Earlier
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today directed
Chief Secretary, Punjab Mr. Rakesh Singh to immediately get in touch
with African national Nestor Ntibateganya father of 24 year old student
Yannick Nizhanga, who is in coma since last two months after assault a
group of youngsters on April 21 in Jalandhar.
Taking serious note of assault of a foreign national, Mr. Badal
directed Chief Secretary to contact his father to access his immediate
requirements and extend all possible medical and financial help. Talking
to media persons Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that he has also directed
Commissioner of Police Mr. Gaurav Yadav to expedite the hunt for
remaining accused in the case and spare no guilty in the case, whosoever
he may be.
Mr.
Yadav informed Deputy Chief Minister that two accused were arrested by
Jalandhar Police and charge sheet had been filed against them whereas
other accused in the case were absconding. It was informed that
according to reports from civil surgeon Patiala , Yannick Nizhanga was
admitted in ICU ward of Colombia Asia Hospital in Patiala since last two
months and he was in coma.
