NSS Spring Camp Concludes at KCVAS

A week-long National Social Service (NSS) spring camp today concluded at Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS). The camp, held from March 15 to 21, under the aegis of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences (GASDVASU), Ludhiana, focused on the theme `people, animals and environment’. More than 200 students took part in activities relating sanitation, traffic management, environment awareness, learning moral values and tree plantation, said KCVAS Principal Dr.SK Jand.
 He said the students also visited Harike wetland, Pingalwara for destitute and Verka Milk plant to learn about the handling of their people oriented activities and environment awareness. A cultural program was also organized in which the students of the College showed their talent. Lectures on traffic issues, snake handling, time and disaster management were also held apart from plantation of saplings on college campus. Dr. Jand distributed the prizes and participation certificates to the volunteers on the conclusion of the camp here today.
 He said the social service should be made part and parcel of the daily life and youth can play a pivotal role in improving the society and the living through such acts.
