Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the SAD-BJP alliance
government was firmly committed for maintaining the law and order situation in
the state and no one would be allowed to disturb the hard earned peace of the
state at any cost.
Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the third day of his
Sangat Darshan program here today, the Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP
alliance government was following the footsteps of Sikh Gurus in right earnest
by ensuring peace, communal harmony and amity in Punjab due to which
universal brotherhood and goodwill was prevailing in the state.
Warning the anti-socials elements, Mr Badal categorically said that law and
order was prime concern of the state and anybody, whosoever influential may be,
would not be allowed to take law into his hands.
He further said that due to the concerted efforts of the
state government Punjab was one of the most peaceful states of the country
today. Mr Badal said that even the data of the Union Home Ministry has also
pointed out the state was much more peaceful then the other parts of the
country.
The Chief Minister further said that though being a
border state, Punjab was highly vulnerable as it was being considered a soft
target by the inimical forces who want to disturb the peace of the state for
their vested interests but due to the strict vigil of SAD-BJP government the
nefarious designs of such forces have been crushed time and again. Reiterating
that the state government had always worked tirelessly for maintain the
communal harmony, peace and brotherhood in the state Mr Badal said that due to such
endeavors of the state government no incident of communal tension has been
witnessed in the state, which was reflective of SAD-BJP coming to power for the
second consecutive term followed by landslide victory in the Moga assembly
by-poll.
The Chief Minister further said that the track record of
the SAD-BJP government was testimony to the fact that they have adopted zero
tolerance towards the crime in the state adding that anyone connected with the
crime directly or indirectly, howsoever influential he might be, had not been
spared in any major case and has been brought to book as per the
law of the land. Mr Badal said that due to this commitment and sincerity
towards the state he has been elected the Chief Minister for the record fifth
term.
Earlier in his address the Chief Minister said that the
sole motive of holding the Sangat Darshan program in the Moga assembly segment
was to address the problems faced by the people from the grass root level and
redress their genuine grievances on the spot. He said that there was hardly any
example when a Chief Minister had spent around six days extensively for solving
the problems of one assembly segment adding that the only reason for this was
to express the gratitude of voters of Moga who have ensured the landslide
victory of SAD-BJP candidate Mr Joginder Pal Jain during the recently concluded
by-election.
Earlier during the Sangat Darshan at village Kothe Patti
Mohabbat, Sandhuanwala, Chupkiti, Mallianwala, Jhandewala, Madeerawala Purana,
Madeeranwala Navaan and Kothe Jaito Khosa (Charik), the Chief Minister
disbursed Rs 1.40 crore for developmental works in these villages.
The Chief Minister also laid down the foundation of
Gurudwara Shaheed Baba Khushal Singh Rural Water Supply Scheme at village Kothe
Jaito Khosa.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included
MLAs Mr Joginder Pal Jain, and Jathedar Tota Singh, Lok Sabha MP Mrs Paramjeet
Kaur Gulshan, Rajya Sabha Member Mr Balwinder Singh Bhunder, former MLA Mr
Jagdeep Singh Nakai, senior Akali leader and former DGP Mr PS Gill and Special
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr KJS Cheema.
