Municipal Bhawan in Chandigarh to be ready by Dec.

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 17

          All branches of Local Bodies Department of the Punjab would work under one roof from December 2013 onward as the work on Municipal Bhawan being constructed in Sector 35, Chandigarh is in final stages of completion.

          Local government Minister Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat today visited the building to see the progress of Rs.36 crore project. Accompanied by Mr. Jagpal Singh, Principal Secretary and Mr. Priyank Bharti, Director of the department, the Minister issued directions to complete the project with in stipulated time and focus on quality control.

          Mr. Bhagat asked the engineers and officers of the department to work hard for the completion of this building before December 15, 2013. Mr. Anil Kansal, Chief Engineer, briefed the Minister about the progress by saying that 40 percent of the work on this project has been completed. He assured the Minister that civil work would completed before June 30.

          The Minister in the press communiqué said that this building would be architectural master piece equipped with modern gadgets like centralized AC system and connecting with wi fi system.
