Mayor Keiran Mulhall visits Khalsa College

 Keiran Mulhall, the Lord Mayor of city of Coventry, United Kingdom, (UK) today visited the historic Khalsa College here and was overtly impressed by the great history and culture of the Sikhs. He was heading the delegation from the UK to engage talks with various Indian Mayors and he showed special interest in the Khalsa College’s heritage building and history and he was welcomed and honoured by Dr. Daljit Singh, Principal of the Khalsa College.
 Dr. Daljit also honoured Mayor’s wife Kim Goudie. A Sikh Councillor of the City of Coventry Harjinder Singh Sehmi and his wife were also part of the delegation. They all visited the Sikh History and Research Museum at the campus and were impressed by the rare books, documents, manuscripts and hand-written `Birs’ of the Guru Granth Sahib. He paid special attention to the weaponry belonging to the Sikh Raj at the Museum.
Dr. Daljit Singh said it is rare honour to welcome the Mayor who had all the appreciation for the Sikh history and culture. Mayor in return bestowed the City Flag emblem of the Coventry to Dr. Daljit Singh. He appreciated the rare cultural heritage building of the College and the collection of the books at the Sikh Museum, said Dr. Daljit Singh. Mayor Mulhall said that though he had read about their history and culture, he was greatly impressed by the distinguished past of the community.
Miss Jane, Rani Harjit Kaur, Harvinder Singh Saundh, Harmandeep Singh Bhatia and Harsimranjit Singh Bhatia also accompanied the delegation.
