The Punjab Government would soon appoint a retired Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court as the Chairman of Vimukat Jaati Commission to ascertain various issues related to Vimukat Jaatis.
A direction to this effect was given by Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal to the office of Advocate General during a meeting with a deputation of Punjab Pardesh Vimukat-Jaati Sangathan led by its president Dr. Tarsem Singh Mahla, held here late last evening at the Chief Minister’s official residence.
Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office informed that on this occasion, Mr. Badal assured the deputation that state government would consider their all legitimate demands sympathetically. He also directed the SC/BC Welfare department to implement all the decisions, which had already been taken during earlier meetings with the Sangathan pertaining to the reservation in the Government jobs, allotment of five marla plots and various benefits under other welfare schemes.
Reiterating the firm commitment of SAD-BJP government for the welfare of the oppressed sections of the society, the Chief Minister asked the organization to work in unison with the policies and programs of the state government for benefiting their community in particular and the state in general.
Mr. Badal said that it was only the SAD-BJP government that had constituted Vimukat Jaatiyaan Bhalai Board for the first time in the State to ensure the over all development of the poor and backward communities.
On the occasion all the leaders of the Vimukat Jaati Sangathan also gave assurance to work hard with full dedication and devotion to meet the high expectations of the Chief Minister for the overall development of the community.
