CHANDIGARH, June 19
A three-month training programme for senior
and middle level revenue officers of Punjab Govt. was inaugurated here today in
the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Punjab (MGSIPAP)
campus by Gurdev Singh Sidhu, IAS, Secy. Revenue Govt. of Punjab. About 12
participants from all over Punjab are participating in this training programme.
They have been deputed by the Punjab Govt. for imparting them Institutional
Training of three months as prescribed in the Punjab Tahsildars (Training)
Regulation,1984.
While addressing the Revenue officers,
Mr. Sidhu exhorted them to constantly update their knowledge about the rules
and regulations and to facilitate reforms in the Revenue Administration to
benefit the society as a whole and farming community in particular during
performance of their duties. He said that land management and maintenance of
Revenue records are their primary duties and the learning tips acquired during
this programme must be used for carrying out their duties with honesty and
transparency.
Mr. M.S Banwait, Coordinator of the
programme said that during the training, the Tahsildars would be imparted
training in the land revenue matters notably preparation and maintenance of
revenue records, khasra girdawari, partition of land, measurement of land,
demarcation of land and various Acts/Rules/Regulations relevant to the
Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation. Besides it, they will also to be
exposed to general principles of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandary,
Cooperation, Health and Senitation, Five Year Plan, Administrative Techniques
and other office procedures.
