Second installment of arrears released

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 22

          The Punjab Government has issued instructions for immediate release of second installment of 30 per cent pay arrears for the period from  January 1, 2006 to  July 31, 2009.

Disclosing this here today, the Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa ,said that all the Heads of Departments, Commissioners of Divisions, District and Sessions Judges, Deputy Commissioners and Registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court have been asked to promptly act in this regard.

          Mr. Dhindsa said that Punjab Government employees, who have yet not received the second installments of their pay arrears from the period 1^st January, 2006 to 31^st July, 2009, would now get second installment. He said that the second installment, which is released, would be 30 per cent of the total pay arrears. Mr. Dhindsa said that pay arrears were being released on the recommendation of Fifth Pay Commission.
