Orders issued to acknowledge summons through e-mails

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 15

         The Punjab Government has issued instructions to all the Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries to update E-mail IDs of their respective department and forwarded it to the office of Advocate General of Punjab. These E-mail IDs would further be forwarded to the Registrar General, Punjab and Haryana High Court, which was in the process of sending notices/summons through E-mails.
          Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that General Administration Department has issued written directions to all the Department Heads and Chairman of Board/Corporations to furnish the E-mail IDs. He said that the Punjab and Haryana High Court was in the process of serving notices through E-mails. The Spokesman said that all the Department Heads have also been instructed to issue directions to the nodal officers of their respective department to regularly check their E-mail accounts and receive and acknowledge the court notices send through E-mail for speedy delivery of justice and in case there was any change in their E-mail accounts, the same must be intimated to the court, immediately.
          He said that the court notices would be served through E-mail with effect from 2nd July, 2012.
