The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash
Singh Badal, today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of
former Minister Raja Narinder Singh, who passed away this morning after a
prolonged illness. He was 89 and survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
In a condolence message, the Chief
Minister described Raja Narinder Singh as a seasoned politician and disciplined
solider of the party with rare qualities of head and heart. Raja Narinder Singh
was a fine human being and above all a true mass leader who tirelessly served
the people at grassroots level throughout his political career starting from
Municipal Council Nabha as a Councilor in 1950 besides serving as Minister
thrice. Describing Raja Narinder Singh’s demise as a personal loss, the Chief
Minister said that the party has been bereft of his valuable services and void
has been created which was difficult to be filled.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with
the members of the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty
to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to bear this huge
loss in this hour of grief.
Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy
Chief Minister, Punjab also expressed
profound grief over the demise of Raja Narinder Singh (90).
In a condolence message, Mr. Badal
said that leader of masses Raja Narinder Singh would always be remembered for
his commitment and contribution for strengthening of SAD. Mr. Bikram Singh
Majithia, Public Relations Minister, Punjab
also condoled the demise of Raja Narinder Singh.
Expressing heartfelt sympathies with
the members of bereaved family, Mr. Badal and Mr. Majithia prayed to the
Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members
to bear this irreparable loss.
