The
Punjab farmers are richer by Rs. 16028.28
crore as state procured more than 13334962 tones of paddy till last evening.
The state government has mobilized the total government machinery to ensure
hassle free procurement and make certain payment of produce to the farmers
within 48 hours of lifting of their produce from the mandis.
A
Spokesperson of the Punjab Government today said that in the Sangrur district
Rs 1968.28 Crore Rupees has been deposited in the farmers accounts till date.
District Ludhiana was on second place in payment where Rs.1930.37 Crore had been deposited in the farmers accounts while District Patiala was third place in payment where Rs.1547.19 Crore have been deposited in the farmers accounts.
He added that government agencies and
private millers procured more than 13334962 tones of paddy till
last evening. Out of total procurement of 13334962 tones of paddy in all the procurement centers of Punjab, Government agencies procured 12718002 tones
of paddy till date whereas private traders procured 616960 tones of paddy.District Ludhiana was on second place in payment where Rs.1930.37 Crore had been deposited in the farmers accounts while District Patiala was third place in payment where Rs.1547.19 Crore have been deposited in the farmers accounts.
