NCC training academies in Malout and Rupanagar

    The prestigious NCC training academies at Malout and Rupnagar would be dedicated to nation jointly by the Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Union State Minister of Defence Dr. M. Mangapatti Pallam Raju on Sunday, September 2.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Punjab was the first state in the country to have two world class training centers for imparting coaching to the NCC cadets. The NCC training centre for the boys at Rupnagar has been constructed over an area of 9 acre at a cost of Rs 9 crore and another for the girls at Malout over an area of 6 acre at a cost of Rs 9.80 crore. With the opening of these academies around 55 thousand cadets from the state would be imparted training for joining the Army, Navy and Air Force under one roof thereby brightening their chances to join the Armed forces. These training centers would be milestone in the history of the NCC as they would be instrumental in organizing the national level camps of the NCC in Punjab from time to time.
