CHANDIGARH, JUNE 13
The Punjab Government has directed the
Agriculture Department to ensure selling of old stock of DAP Fertilizers on the
old rates.
Disclosing this here today Director of
Agriculture Deartmment Dr.Mangal Singh Sandhu said that Chief Minister Mr. Parkash
Singh Badal has issued order in this matter and directed the Agriculture
Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department and other sister concerns to
disburse the stocked DAP fertilizer on the old rates. He said that it has also
been directed to initiate departmental or legal action against all the companies/dealers/co-operative
societies which are found selling fertilizers on higher rates to the farmers.
He said that earring companies would
be penalized under Fertilizers Control Act 1985.
Dr.Sandhu also urged the farmers to
verify the rates printed on the bags during purchase of fertilizers.
