CHANDIGARH, JUNE 7
Core member of Team Anna, Dr. Kiran Bedi, today alleged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi for supporting corruption in their party and asked them to act against the corrupt cabinet ministers by forming a Special Investigative Team which would comprise of retired judges of Supreme Court.
Addressing the media at PHD Chamber Dr. Kiran Bedi said that team Anna had handed over the list of 14 corrupt cabinet ministers to the Prime Minister but till the government had not cleared its stand on this issue.
“We have suggested that this issue should be inspected by a special investigation team comprising of retired judges, retired police officers, and senior journalists. It is also worth mentioning that if government does not take any decision till 25th July then team Anna would again sit on a countrywide hunger strike against the government. The strategy is being worked out to make it successful”, told Dr. Kiran Bedi.
On the occasion of Quit India Movement which is on 9th Aug under the leadership of Yoga guru Ramdev, we would take this movement of throwing the corrupt leaders out of this country into a new phase.
Answering the media queries Dr. Bedi, who was present on the occasion of Fouders’ Day Celebrations of Aryans Group of Colleges, said that there are no differences in team Anna and we all are working together including Mr. Arvind Kejriwala. Appreciating the media for their efforts to make Team Anna’ movement successful, she said that Guru Ramdev is fighting on the issue of Black money while Team Anna is strong on the issue of Janlokpal Bill. Both of them are two aspects of a coin and we should not look at them separately.
Speaking on the issue of Coal Scam, Dr. Bedi held the PM responsible and said that to make their position clear the government should form a special committee to investigate the coal scam. Its been seen that the auction of coal mines had been done to few favorite business houses of government resulting into huge monetary loss to the country.
She also lamented that the investigation agencies in the country are not working independently and with Janlokpal bill these investigation agencies including CBI can perform their duties independently.
