CHANDIGARH, NOV 19
The
Punjab Government notified 7 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA)
enhancement payable to the state government employees/pensioners from 65
per cent to 72 per cent of the revised basic pay with effect from 1st
July, 2012.
Disclosing
this here, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that
the announcement for 7 per cent increase has already been made by the
Finance Minister on November 12, 2012. He said that the state government
has now issued notification for the implementation of this DA
enhancement.
He
further said that the enhanced DA as already announced by the Finance
Minister would be given in two modes. He said that the enhanced DA for
the first two months i.e. from 1st July, 2012 to 31st
August, 2012 would be deposited in to the General Provident Fund (GPF)
account of employees, whereas the arrear of the DA calculating from 1st
September would be given in cash. The spokesperson further said that
the employees appointed on or after 1st January, 2004 would be paid the
enhanced DA in the shape of National Saving Certificates/Kisan Vikas
Patras for the period from 1st July, 2012 to 31st August, 2012, while
pensioners would be paid the entire amount of enhanced dearness
allowance in cash with effect from 1st July, 2012.
