CHANDIGARH, NOV 15
All India Council of
Technical Education has accorded affiliation to the seven new government
polytechnic colleges of the state.
Disclosing this here today Technical
Education and Industrial Training Minister Mr. Anil Joshi said that the
admissions for 840 seats in these seven polytechnic colleges for the session
2012-13 have been commenced. He said that the colleges who have affiliated with
the AICTE included Sant Baba Attar Singh government polytechnic college Badbar,
district Barnala, government polytechnic college Kotakpura, district Faridkot,
government polytechnic college Begowal, district Kapurthala, Shaheed Nand Singh
government polytechnic college, Bareta, district Mansa, government polytechnic
college Behram, district SBS Nagar, Shri guru Hargobind Singh Sahib government
polytechnic college, Ranwan, district Fatehgarh Sahib and government
polytechnic college, Fatuhikhera, district Sri Mukatsar Sahib.
Mr. Joshi said that the students
belonging to the rural areas would benefitted the most as there were no
government polytechnic college in the vicinity of the areas where these
government polytechnic colleges have been established. He said that for the
admission in these government polytechnic colleges seven mentor institutes have
been set up in government polytechnic college, Bathinda, government polytechnic
college GTB Garh, Moga, government polytechnic college Amritsar, Baba Hira
Singh Bhattal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lehragaga, district
Sangrur, government polytechnic college, Hoshiarpur, government polytechnic
college, Khunimajra, district Mohali, Malout institute of management and
information technology, Malout, district Sri Mukatsar Sahib. Mr. Joshi said
that the classes would be shifted to the new buildings when completed. He said
that the students having merits in state level JET 2012 could apply for these
in government polytechnic college till November 17.
