CHANDIGARH, NOV 29
The
Punjab Government would soon notify a new policy for attracting investment in
realty sector and the new policy would be in the public domain by December 15.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal
was talking to media after laying the foundation stone of a 10 storey building
here today that would be completed within 48 hours using latest factory
fabricated technology. Mr. Badal said that Punjab was all set to become new
investment destination as it was having the highest growth rate even when
national economy was in doldrums. He said that the new policy of housing sector
was aimed at making it hassle free for the investor, ensuring time bound
clearances besides offering incentives in Floor Area Ratio etc. He said that
Punjab would like to encourage high rise buildings besides ensuring convenience
of the user. He said that we limited availability of land, the only answer was
going vertical. Mr. Badal said that the new policy would incentivize high rise
buildings.
Announcing construction of 2 lac EWS
houses within next 1 year, Mr. Badal said that the new building technology
unveiled today could be used in such houses. Mr. Badal asked PUDA to study the
suitability and economy of new technology for mass housing and submit a report
in this regard.
Earlier, Mr. Badal laid the foundation
stone of the new 10 storey building that would be completed within 48 hours
using factory fabricated technology.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Harpal
Singh, MD of the company said that purpose of this sample building was to
showcase new building technology that can expedite the construction work
besides saving energy.
Prominent amongst those who were present
on the occasion included Mr. N.K. Sharma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr.
S.S. Saini, DGP, Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Ex-Union Minister and other
senior leaders.
