CHANDIGARH, NOV 21
The Vigilance Bureau Punjab has registered a case against Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, three SDOs, two JEs, and three Contractors of Bathinda Development Authority for committing grave irregularities during checking of electric works executed in district Mansa.
Disclosing this here today Mr Suresh Arora DGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that bureau has conducted an enquiry about the electric works executed by the Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) in Mour Mandi, Mansa and Budhlada towns and grave irregularities were found.
Adding further he said that it was detected that the accused Government officials in connivance with contractors had caused a loss to the tune of Rs. 8,02,61,472/- to the State exchequer. In this regard the Vigilance has registered a case under FIR No. 10 dated 21.11.2012, u/s 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC and 13 (I) (d) read with 13 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 has been registered at Police Station, Vigilance Bureau, Bathinda against the accused Tarlochan Singh, Chief Engineer, Bathinda Development Authority, Bathinda, Paramjit Singh, Superintending Engineer Bathinda Development Authority, Bathinda, Chanchal Ram, SDO, Harminder Singh, SDO, Umesh Kaushal SDO, Gurdeep Singh JE, Amit Garg, Section Officer, Bathinda Development Authority, Bathinda, Swarndeep Arora JE, M/s Pawan Kumar Sighal Contractor, M/s Bhushan Kumar Thakural, Ludhiana and Mr. Kulbir Sahni of M/s Arbindra Electrical. He added that the further investigation was under progress.
