The
Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, today welcomed the visit of
Prime Minister of UK Mr. David Cameron to the Jallianwala Bagh for paying
homage to the martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919 and regretting
the incident by saying it as a shameful act.
Disclosing this here today, the spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office
informed that describing it as a historic day for the country, Mr. Badal said
that this visit of Mr. Cameron, the relations between both the nations would be
strengthened and help in boosting an era of mutual understanding and
brotherhood that would create a healthy and harmonious atmosphere for the
bilateral economic development.
Mr. Badal further said that the country especially the Punjab had been waiting
for such apology since long. The visit of British Prime Minister to Jallianwala
Bagh itself described a lot.
