The Election Commission of India has issued instructions regarding security
arrangements of polling booths for Moga Bye Poll.
Disclosing
this here today CEO Punjab said that Punjab Congress President Captain Amrinder
Singh had recently approach the ECI for security arrangements. The ECI has
ordered that adequate deployment of CPF should be made outside the polling
station, depending on the sensitivity analysis by election officials in
consultation with the observer. Extensive patrolling should be done by the CPF.
Senior citizens and disabled persons should be permitted to either come in
their own vehicles or in some public transport up to the polling station to
cast their vote and they should not be asked to stand in queue and should be
given priority over other voters in casting their votes.
The
Commission has directed the district administration to ensure that all persons
from outside the constituency who are not voters or candidates in the
constituency should leave the constituency after the campaign period is over.
The
returning officer has also been instructed to appoint one Micro Observer in
each polling station location and every polling station must be covered with
either a video camera or a digital still camera. The district administration
will follow the ECI's guidelines in letter and spirit. The observer will be
supervising the district administration in this effort.
