Awareness campaign on voting rights at KCVAS

AMRITSAR, APRIL 27
 An awareness campaign on the use of voting right was held at local Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS). The purpose of the event organized by NSS wing of the college was to educate the young students about the `value of the vote’ in a democracy. Principal
of the college, Dr.SK Jand said while addressing the students that casting vote is basic and sacred duty of every citizen which should be ethically used to elect representatives who must work for the betterment of the society and nation-building.
 The students carrying placards and banners with slogans of electing right candidates by casting votes held a campus rally also on the occasion. They stated that the strength of any democracy can be gauged by the people’s awareness to participate in the election process. Dr,Jand said India is vibrant democracy but its sucess depends upon the awareness to use the right to franchise and choose the government which is responsive and progressive.
 Dr.SS Sidhu, NSS Coordinators Dr.SPS Bali, Dr.Gurjot Mavi, faculty members and students were present during the campaign.
