Governor administers oath to Justice (Retd) Sekhon as Lokpal

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil administered the oath of allegiance to Mr. Justice (Retd.) J.S. Sekhon as Lokpal, Punjab.

CHANDIGARH, NOV 16 

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil administered the oath of allegiance to Mr. Justice (Retd.) J.S. Sekhon as Lokpal, Punjab at a brief but impressive ceremony today held at Punjab Raj Bhavan.

         Earlier, the Punjab Chief Secretary, Mr. Rakesh Singh sought the permission of the Governor to start the swearing in ceremony. Soon after being sworn in Mr. Justice (Retd.) J.S. Sekhon signed the oath, which was counter signed by the Governor.

           Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal,  senior leaders of political parties, Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. S.K. Sandhu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Ganggandip Singh Brar, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. P.S. Aujla, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. S.S. Channy, Principal Secretary Industries, Mr. K.B. S. Sidhu, Principal Secretary Irrigation,  senior civil and police officers, members of the journalists fraternity and the invitees from all over the State attended the ceremony.

           The family members, friends and well wishers of Mr. Justice (Retd.) Sekhon were also present in the swearing in ceremony.

High-tea was also served to the guests at the Punjab Raj Bhavan after the ceremony.
