CHANDIGARH, AUG 17
The Punjab Government would impart
one year free stenography training to the graduates belonging to Scheduled
Castes besides providing them a monthly stipend of Rs. 250.

Welfare Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike said that the free stenography
training would be given by the Language Department through its all district
level training centers. He said that the students from Chandigarh
would get the training at the center of language department setup in the
premises of Government
College, Phase-6, SAS
Nagar (Mohali). He said that desiring candidates can send or submit their
detailed applications with the District Language Officer or Assistant Director
Language Department, Punjab Chandigarh by August 27.
Mr.
Ranike said thatthe candidate should be resident of Punjab
and belongs to Scheduled Castes. He said that priority would be given to the
candidates from the below poverty line families. He said that in absence of BPL
category students, the candidates having annual income of less than Rs. 1 lakh
would be considered. He said that if
again the seats would remain vacant, the candidates having annual income of
more than Rs. 1 lakh would be considered but they would not be able to get the
stipends.
The
Minister informed that there were minimum 15 seats in this training program at
each district except Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Tarn
Taran and Barnala besides Mohali would have 20 seats. He said that the
interview would be conducted on August 29 from 9 am.
