Parkash Singh Badal to visit Oak Creek Gurdwara

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister  Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash
Singh Badal would visit Oak Creek Gurdwara in Winkonsin of United States during his ongoing US visit.
    Condemning the merciless shooting of innocent Sikh pilgrims in US Gurdwara, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, who is also president of Shiromani Akali Dal said that the entire humanity stands shocked and stunned the way Sikhs were targeted in the oldest democracy of world US.
 He said that Punjab Government has already informed US authorities through diplomatic channels that Chief Minister would visit the Gurdwara. He would also visit the families of victims to share his grief in this difficult hour. The CM during his US visit would also meet US authorities, pressing upon them need to investigate this hastic crime against Sikhs and unveil the conspiracy behind merciless and targeted shooting down of Sikhs in a Gurdwara.

                Speaking about the Rs. 470 project of 4 laning of Ludhiana-Talwandi Road from 92 milestone onwards, Mr. Badal said that this would be one of the most modern access controlled road that would address the problem of increasing traffic on the busiest artery of Punjab. He said that this road being constructed on design-build-operate and transfer model by Essel Tollways Limited. He said that this would have elevated road in the urban inhabitation like Mullanpur-Jagraon-Moga falling on the road and would have 56 bus bays.

                Expressing concern over leaving a neck of 9 kilometer out of purview of 4 laning of National Highways from 85 km to 92 kilometer, Mr. Badal said that after seeking permission from Defence authorities, they would impress upon NHAI to expand the scope of contract to un-build 9 km stretch and if they have any problem, the Punjab Government would itself complete the 4 laning of this crucial neck between Ludhiana City and beginning point of this 4 laning project.

                Announcing the expansion of Ludhiana Airport, Mr. Badal said that the Punjab Government has already okayed the expansion and modernisation plan of Ludhiana Airport on the pattern of Mohali Airport. He said that after expansion Boeing 320 would be able to land on this airport and with the installation of VFR and ILFS instrumentation, planes would be able to land at this airport without any interruption and during night also.

                Announcing the ambitious program of connecting every town of Punjab with 4/6 lane roads at the cost of Rs. 10,000, Mr. Badal said that Punjab Government has already okayed Ludhiana-Chandigarh-Jalandhar, Amritsar-Zira-Ferozepur-
Bathinda roads including Amritsar-Pathankot Road. Mr. Badal said that with the construction of 39 ROBs and 7 RUBs at the cost of Rs. 432 crores, Punjab was the only state in the country that has constructed highest number of ROBs during last five years.
                Announcing a bonanza for NRIs, Mr. Badal said that Punjab Government was all set to announce a package for NRI Punjabis including NRI Cards, Special Legal Provisions to safeguard their land and property in Punjab, Expanding the scope of present legal framework to enable NRIs to get their properties vacated for self use ,NRI Cards enabling them quick registration, concessional health package, reservation in residential colonies besides attractive discounts on shopping in malls. Mr. Badal said that with the inauguration of NRI interactive website, NRIs would be able to lodge their complaints online and getting quick response and action from the Punjab Government.

                 Announcing complete computerisation of Excise and Taxation Department, Mr. Badal said that this department would be the first department that would become paperless by December this year. He said that instructions of Excise Department to fill form online and to register their bills online were a step towards bringing transparency in the revenue administration and reducing the harassment of tax payers, who spent their time filling sheaf of forms for every return.

                Reiterating the resolve of SAD-BJP Government to intensify its fight against drug addiction, Mr. Badal said that increasing seizures depicts the seriousness and gravity of the problem. He rubbished any difference with BJP on revenue administration issues.
