Badal gives nod for creation of 25 new posts in women police stations

CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 3
            In a bid to combat the gender related offences efficiently, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today approved the proposal of state Home department for the creation of 25 new posts in addition to the already existing strength in the Women Police Station at SAS Nagar Mohali.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the newly created posts would entail an expenditure of nearly 74 lakh annually.  These posts included one each post of inspector, sub-inspector, assistant sub inspector, besides 3 head constables, 17 constables and two class IV employees to further strengthen the existing police station to deal with the cases related to women and children expeditiously. 
It may be recalled that the women police station at SAS Nagar was established in October, 2011. Fifty percent of the staff for this police station had already been deputed by the district police including one inspector, two sub-inspectors, four assistant sub inspectors, 8 head constables, 34 constables and three class IV employees.
