CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 8
The
Empowered Committee on mega projects today approved two projects of Rs. 708.88
crore.
A decision to this effect was taken in
a meeting of the Empowered Committee chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Mr.
Parkash Singh Badal here at CMO this morning.
Disclosing
this here today the spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that the
committee had cleared the mega project - Multi Model Logistic Hub (MMLH) with
an investment of Rs. 487.38 crore to be set up by Punjab State Container and
Warehousing Corporation Limited (CONWARE) in collaboration with the Container
Corporation of India (CONCOR) in District Ludhiana over an area of 150 acre
that would generate direct & indirect employment to 6,000 persons.
The
spokesperson further said that the empowered committee also gave its nod for
the setting up of a Cricket Stadium-cum-Sports complex with seating capacity
for 40,000 spectators with an investment of Rs. 221.50 crore in District SAS
Nagar Mohali by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA)..
