Punjab selected for achieving record production in agriculture

          Punjab has been selected for award of Commendation Award – 2012. This was revealed today by a spokes person of the Agriculture Departemtn Punjab.
          The spokesperson said that this award is bestowed by the Government of India for achieving record production in agriculture. The state of Punjab has been selected for this award for the year 2012 as it has achieved record production in agriculture.
          The spokesman told that under the “Krishi Karman Award “ category , this award would be received from the President of India by Chief Minister of Punjab parkash Singh Badal, Mr G.S.Sandhu, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Development), Punjab, and Dr. Mangal Singh Sandhu, Director Agriculture, Punjab.
DEMAND TO PROBE PUNJAB INTOTECH FINANCIAL AFFAIRS
The Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Mr. Anil Joshi have requested Punjab Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa to ask Examiner Local Funds Account to conduct a thorough enquiry into the financial affairs of Punjab InfoTech at the earliest and submit the report to the department.
The Minister has ordered this enquiry taking a serious note of depleting of huge fixed deposits of Corporation besides discrepancies in allotment of industrial plots and their cancellation by the InfoTech. The Minister has also taken a serious view of allotment of consultancy for Rajpura and Rail majra IT Parks.
The Industry Minister has requested Finance Minister to get the enquiry expedited so that administrative action could be initiated against the wrong doers on the basis of the enquiry. He said that brining Punjab InfoTech and other boards and corporations under Examiner Local Fund Accounts was imperative to bring total transparency in the working of such boards and corporations.
LEAVING STATION WITHOUT PERMISSION NOT ALLOWED
In a bid to make the state administration far more efficient and responsive towards general public, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has directed all the officers/officials not to leave their stations of posting without the prior permission of controlling authorities. 
        Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister Office said that Mr. Badal has asked the Chief Secretary to issued detailed instructions in this regard and held all the Heads of the Departments responsible to ensure strict compliance of these instructions.  
        It was brought to the notice of Chief Minister that most of the officers especially posted in the field often left their stations of posting without seeking prior permission from the controlling authorities, the spokesperson added. 
EIGHT ABSENTEE TEACHERS DISMISSED
         The Punjab Government has dismissed eight teachers, who were absent from their duties for a long period.
          Disclosing this here today Director General School Education (DGSE) Kahan Singh Pannu said that the Punjab government has taken strong exceptional action absenteeism of the teaching faculty in the Government schools of Punjab. He said that the education department has earlier issued instructions to the District Education Authorities to ensure the regular attendance of the teachers in the school. Time and again notices have been issued to the habitual absentee teachers. He said that eight teachers have been dismissed of the service who were absent from their duties since long.
