Historic Khalsa College’s `Jhoomer’ team has stood first in the Punjab
State Inter-varsity Youth Festival, organized by Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy
at village Badal in the Muktsar district. The team performed the traditional
folk dance in the competition and bagged the top position. The College’s
`Kavishari’ (Religious Song Recitals) group also got the first position in the
festival, said College Principal Dr.Daljit Singh.
He congratulated the team members and the staff for their hard work.
He said it was a matter of pride that their `cultural orchestra’ team also
stood third in the event which attracted students from all around for participation.
He said it is their endevour to promote rich cultural heritage of the state and
such events help them to achieve their goal in promoting folk art. He
congratulated College’s Dean, Youth Affairs. Prof. Devender Singh,
Prof.Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Prof. Harinder Sohal for their guidance and
training to the students.
