Disclosing this here today a Spokesman of the Punjab Government said that in terms of section 16 of the Emigration Act 1983, only registered recruiting agents and genuine foreign employers with valid permit were allowed to advertise and recruit Indian citizens for overseas jobs. He further said that it was also mandatory to indicate their permit number while inserting the advertisement, but it has been found by the Ministry of Indian Overseas Affairs about the publication of advertisement regarding overseas employment /jobs by unauthorized foreign employees/recruiting agents.

He said that name of the employer, his central registration no, telephone no, email ID etc along with the name of the destination country. The Spokesman further added that no fee towards processing application or for any other purpose should be charged from the applicant.
