The Legal Cell of Education
Department, Punjab would hold a ‘Special
Public Hearing’ program on February 14 and February 28 to redress the
pendency of court cases and services issues of employees of Education
Department.
According
to an official spokesman, for the compliance of decisions taken by
Punjab and Haryana High Court in the cases pertaining to
employees of Education Department, the Legal Cell of the department has
expedite the process with a view to resolve such cases in a short span
of time.
He said that all the concerned officers have been directed by Legal Cell
to
resolve the pending cases as early as possible.
The Spokesman said that the Legal Cell of the Education Department has
conducted a ‘Public Hearing’ on January 28, 2013 chaired by Mr. Ashok Kumar
Gupta, Secretary School Education, in which Mr. Balwinder Singh Multani,
Special Secretary School Education, Mr. Kavita Singh, Special Secretary School
Education, Mr. Gurdeep Singh Additional Secretary School Education, Mr. Jasbir
Singh, Additional Secretary School Education, Mr. Harbans Singh, Special
Executive Officer (Litigation) and DPIs (secondary and elementary) were
also present. He said that total 60 cases were considered in public hearing
program out of which 43 has been disposed off on the spot and orders have been
issued to officers to dispose of pending cases.
He said that 14 employees of
the department has also submitted their grievances/representations regarding
their service issues in Public Hearing and the panel has directed concerned
officers to sort out these cases on priority basis. He said that details
regarding the cases/issues, which would be considered in the next public
hearings, would be announced soon.
