Departments told to appoint separate counsels for Boards, Corporations and PSUs

 The Punjab Government today asked its all departments to engage separate counsels for Boards, Corporations and Public Sector Undertakings falling under various departments to receive advance copy of writ petitions filed in High Court.
          According to an official spokesman as per the orders, the Corporations, Boards of various government departments and Public Sector Undertakings have been directed to appoint an individual counsel for them to get the notice before or after filing up of writ petitions.  He said that as per the orders departments have to appoint an individual counsel within a week. He also informed that the details of appointed counsel along with names and other particulars have to communicate to the Registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court.
          The spokesman said that Counsel, who would be appointed by the department, would receive the notices and it would further send to the concerned Boards, Corporations and PSUs. He said that Counsel would also ensure the delivery of notice to the concerned officers of Board, Corporation and PSUs. 
 He said that after receiving the notices regarding writ petitions, the concerned Boards, Corporations and PSUs can appoint separate counsels, in place of the appointed counsel for receiving of notice, for their own level for further proceedings. The spokesman said that each department would appoint one counsel for all the Boards, Corporations and PSUs falling under it, whose name would be communicated to the Registrar of Punjab and Haryana High Court.  
      The Spokesman also said that after completing all the formalities all the departments would send their reports to the Home Department.
