The Punjab Government
today appointed eight Chairpersons of District Planning Committees with
immediate effect.
Disclosing
this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Punjab
Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal gave his nod to this effect on Wednesday
evening.
The
newly appointed chairpersons of these committees included MLA Malout Mr
Harpreet Singh for Sri Muktsar Sahib, former Cabinet Minister Mr Hira Singh
Gabria for Ludhiana and former MLA Mr Veer Singh Lopoke for Amritsar. Likewise
senior Akali leader Mr Gurcharan Singh Channi had been appointed as Chairperson
of District Planning Committee Jalandhar, former MLA Mr Sarabjeet Singh Makkar
of Kapurthala, Mr Deepinder Singh Dhillon of Patiala, Mr Prem Kumar Valecha of Fazilka and
former MLA Mr Mangat Ram Bansal of Mansa.
