Drishti Punjab gives scholarship to 5 poor students

CHANDIGARH, FEB 13
 Canada associated NGO Drishti Punjab today organized Educational Award function to honor poor  students with North India’s biggest educational award. Organized at press club- Chandigarh, students awarded with scholarships of Rs. 50,000 each.  Students selected from the merit list of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) who belongs to very poor families.
Among the awarded students are Jasvir Kaur, student of Govt. High School  Gadapur, Patiala, Inderjit Kaur , Student of Govt Senior Secondary School from village Dhada Fateh Singh of Hoshiarpur, Aarti from village of Hajipur, Hoshiarpur. Komal Singh student of Malwa Khalsa Sr. Sec School, Dhuri and Kanta Rani a student of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sadaywala, Fazilka also honored with this award and appreciation letter.
Chief guest, PSEB’s Vice Chairman- Suresh Tandon appreciated this initiative of Drishti Punjab and promised all kind of support from the Board to the NGO in the future.
Speaking on this occasion the director of Drishti Punjab Mr. Joginder singh Grewal addressed the gathering by saying this scholarship belongs to these talented poor students who will surely become face of the country in the years to come. He clarified to parents and school to not spend this monetary scholarship on any domestic or personal use.
The In charge of Drishti Punjab’s chairman for Punjab region Mr. Khushal Lali said, From many years this Ngo is working for this Noble Cause of education for poor students. He also appreciated the talent of these students who regularly stands above the poverty and showcases their skills by making mark on the annual merit list of Board. He also said this award is not limited to five students but it will indeed inspire many more who will be the face of the nation in the years to come.
“This step will motivate us to continue our education and will inspire us to do more hard work”, feel enthusiastic awarded students.
Many NRI’s from Canada and media personalities were present at the occasion.
