Handicap boy to get artificial limbs on CM’s direction

CHANDIGARH, FEB 7
        Taking a serious note of the news item published in a section of press today regarding a 17 year boy of village Urrang near Malout who had lost his both arms after touching a broken high-tension electric wire outside his house seven year back, the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal directed the Social Security department to provide artificial limbs to the boy with immediate effect.
        Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office informed that the PSPCL had already gave an amount of Rs.5 lakh to the boy as compensation on the directions of the Chief Minister besides Mr. Badal had also gave a grant of Rs. 25000 from his discretionary fund to the boy. 
        The artificial limbs would be provided to the boy in next 10 days after taking the body measurements by the social security department, said the spokesperson.  Mr. Badal also directed the district administration to fulfill the commitments made to facilitate this handicapped boy at the earliest.
