JET Test to be organized on April 7

Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training has decided to hold the Joint Entrance Test 2013 on April 7.  On the basis of the merit of the Joint Entrance Test online counseling would be held for admission to various diploma courses in the affiliated institutions located in Punjab and Chandigarh. 
Mr. A.R. Talwar, Principal Secretary Technical Education-cum-Chairman of the Board informed that this year Joint Entrance Test is being held five weeks in advance so that the admission procedure is completed within the stipulated period as per the academic calendar of AICTE.  Further he also indicated that the online counseling for general as well as fee waiver scheme should be held simultaneously so that the candidates could get maximum benefit out of it.
About 60,000 seats are available for admission spread over 29 different diploma courses.  In addition to this about 3000 seats are available under fee waiver category where the students are exempted from paying tuition fee of Rs. 22,000  per year.  The information diary of JET 2013 along with Application forms should be sold through affiliated polytechnic colleges of the Board, schools affiliated to Punjab School Education Board and Suvidha Centers in the D.C. office of the districts at a cost of Rs. 50.
