At least 200 students
were today conferred the B.Ed and M.Ed.degrees at Khlasa College of Education
(Ranjit Avenue)’s annual Convocation. Guru Nanak Dev University Vice Chancellor
Dr.Ajaib Singh Brar said in his convocation address that teacher’s profession
is the most noble and full of responsibility and he asked the scholars who
would the future teachers to help modernizing the education. He said the
present system of imparting education is turning obsolete and new methods of
teaching and research are required to be adopted.
Khalsa College
Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who was the
chief guest said that a revolution of sort was required in the education system.
He focused his speech on girls education, adult education to make the society
educated and progressive. He termed the menace of `copying’ in the school
education as a blot on the education system that needed to be erased. KCE
Principal Dr.Surinder Pal Kaur earlier read out the progress report of the
college citing the achievements of the college in academics, cultural
activities and sports. She said that under the able- leadership of the KCGC,
the College was progressing day and night and new infrastructure was being
added.
All of them
congratulated the students who got the degrees today and wished them luck in
their future profession of teaching. Others present during the function
included KCGC Vice President Charanjit Singh Chadha, Additional honourary
secretary Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Joint secretaries SS Mannan and Rajbir
Singh, Member Principal Jagdish Singh, Principal Khalsa College Dr.Daljit
Singh, Principal Khalsa college for Women Dr. Sukhbir Kaur Mahal, Principal
Khalsa College of Education Dr.JS Dhillon, Principal Khalsa College of
Engineering and Technology Dr.Amarpal Singh, Principal Khalsa College Public
School Dr.Sarvjit Kaur Brar, Principal Khalsa College International
Public School DK Sandhu and Principal Khalsa College Senior Secondary School
Tejinder Kaur Bindra, staff members and students were present.
