AGC Convocation: 250 MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Ed students get degree

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 23

 Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organised its 3rd Convocation at PHD Chamber, Chandigarh today. Dr. R.S. Khandpur, Director General, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mr. Mohanbir Singh Sidhu, Additional Director, Department of Technical Education,Punjab was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event. Around 250 MBA (2009-11), BBA & BCA (2008-11) and B.Ed (2011-12) students of Aryans were awarded degrees.

 The convocation started with lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. While delivering convocation address, the Chief Guest Dr. R.S. Khandpur motivated the students to acquire excellence in their chosen fields to move forward in their lives and contribute to nation building. Dr. Khandpur also urged the students to step out of restricted thinking and explore the opportunities in the current global scenario.

 While addressing the faculty and students of the Aryans Group of Colleges on the occasion, Dr. R. S. Khandpur said that global forces have made considerable impact on India at all levels of its life, penetrating its economy and reshaping its thinking and mode of operation. India today is quite different from what it was barely 20 years ago. India’s doctors, engineers, IT specialists, space scientists, academician and management professionals are present in the west in large numbers making the country proud.

Dr. Khandpur further added that Challenges to education today is to shift from a localized factory model to one that prepares its students to function in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing globalized world. Education must prepare youth for integration into societies and economies from highly diverse, linguistic, ethnic, religious, racial and cultural backgrounds. Children should be taught ‘to learn how to learn’ in view of the availability of enormous amount of information now available through the internet.

While congratulating the students, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that “The World is waiting for people who are able to think, analyze and apply and I can proudly say that these young talents will make great progress and positively impact business and society in the coming years”. 

 “As the Indian Economy is integrating with the world, it requires Managers with a Global perspective. An interdisciplinary approach within the students is the need of the hour and keeping this perspective in mind, Aryans concentrates on producing holistic individuals”, Dr. Kataria further added.

 Mrs. Sarita Jain, Dean Academics, Aryans Group presented the annual report of college & highlighted the vision of the Group for future. She read out the achievements of the college highlighting the quality education& placements by various top companies.

 Prof.B.S.Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group gave ‘Vote of Thanks’ to the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time to address motivate and encourage the Aryans students.

 Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman, Aryans Group; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Treasurer, Aryans Group; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group; Prof.B.S.Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group; Prof A P Jain, Director, Aryans Group; Dr. P B Mahapatra, Director, Aryans College of Engineering; Dr.Manjula Kataria, Principal, Aryans College of Education; Mrs. Sarita Jain, Dean Academics, Aryans Group; Ms Varinder Kaur and Ms Tejinder Kaur, Coordinators, Aryans Group. At last, the event ended up with the declaration of the closing of the Convocation followed by the National Anthem.
