CHANDIGARH, MARCH 7
The placement of
students of Technical Institutes including ITIs and Polytechnic would reflect
in the Annual Confidential reports of institute heads.
A decision to this effect was taken by Technical Education and Industrial
Training Minister Mr. Anil Joshi to strictly monitor the placement record of
all Technical institutes. The Punjab Government has issued instructions for the
competent authorities to consider the placement of the students before writing
Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of the principals of the concerned institutes.
The Minister said that the efficient principals
ensuring good placements would also be suitably rewarded. He said that the
ACR’s of principals, belonging to Polytechnic and Engineering Colleges and
Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) of the state, would be written on the
basis of the placement of the students. Minister further said that the issue of
constructive use of the funds and grants would also be taken care of before
writing ACRs.
Mr. Joshi also instructed the principals to have
relations with more and more big corporate units to organize job fairs so that
opportunities could be made for the students for the placements. He also asked
the principals to start new courses considering the demands of the corporate
sector.
