Karandeep
Thakur of hosts Panjab University won gold medal in the Under-66 kg class
by defeating Rohit Kumar of Himachal Pradesh University in the final on the second day of All India Inter University Judo (men)
Championship being organised by Directorate of Sports, P.U. at P.U. Gymnasium
hall.
It was fourth gold for Panjab
University. On the opening day yesterday, Panjab University had lifted three
gold medals.
Narinder (Kurukshetra University,
Kurukshetra) and Parmod Kumar (G.N.D.University, Amritsar) bagged gold
medals in the Under-81 and under-100 kg class, respectively.
Results:
Under 66 kg: 1 Karandeep Thakur (Panjab University, Chandigarh), 2
Rohit Kumar (H.P.U., Shimla), 3 Farzan Vania (Mumbai University,
Mumbai) and Sohan Singh ( H.N.B., University Garhwal).
Under
81 kg: 1 Narinder (Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra), 2 Saruth Chandran (Calicut University), 3
Jitender (Delhi University) and Inderdeep Singh (Punjabi University, Patiala).
Under
100 kg: 1 Parmod Kumar (G.N.D.University, Amritsar), 2 Prikshit
Kumar (M.D.U. Rohtak), 3 Vipin Kumar (CCS University, Meerut) and Vartue
Mahesh (Shivaji University, Kohlapur).
