With the view to bring more transparency into the service delivery system and
to provide hassle free services the Punjab Government has decided to bring more
services under the ambit of Right to Service (RTS) Act. Disclosing this here
today Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat, Minister for Local Bodies, Punjab said that under
local bodies department more services would soon be inducted beside 12 services
already being given under RTS.
Divulging the detail of new services tipped to be inducted under the domain of
RTS, the Minister said that issue of copy of tax assessment register in cases
of change of ownership, death, registered will, un-registered will and Orders
of Court, issue of trade license and renew of trade license would be new
entries under the RTS for which information could be sought by the public.
It is pertinent to mention here that the services which
are being provided to the public under RTS in local bodies department included
sanction of building plan, issue of completion and occupation certificates,
issue of no objection certificates, duplicate allotment letter and re-allotment
letter, issue of conveyance deed, issue of no due certificate, transfer of
property in case of sale, transfer of property in case of death, issue of
permission for mortgage and sanction of water supply and sewerage connection.
